Based at the LifeLink of Georgia’s Norcross office, the Multicultural Donation Education Program (MDEP) has an opening for an Education Specialist. The Education Specialist will be responsible for implementing programs to heighten awareness and donor registrations in multicultural communities throughout Metro Atlanta, with a focus on African American communities.
•Serve as a resource for health professionals and the community regarding multicultural donation and transplantation inquiries.
•Compose and deliver formal MDEP presentations, both verbally and in writing.
•Coordinate events to promote donation and transplantation to multicultural communities.
•Maintain tracking and evaluation systems to assess results of MDEP activities.
•Develop partnerships with professional, civic, social, educational, and community organizations that impact multicultural populations throughout the assigned territory, to share information about donation and donor registration.
•Demonstrated experience with establishment and maintenance of ongoing relationships through community relations activities.
•Ability to interact with management, staff, and outside contacts.
•Knowledge normally acquired through the completion of a four year degree.
•Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
•Good driving record.
•Reliable transportation, and ability to travel, as needed.
•Extended hours involved, at times.
•Ability to develop and coordinate events to promote organ and tissue donation, as appropriate.
