Living organ donation and transplantation was developed as a direct result of the critical shortage of deceased donors. Nationally, in 2020, living donors made more than 5,700 transplants possible.
Living donation is an opportunity to save a life while you are still living by donating a kidney or a portion of your liver. It offers another choice for transplant candidates, and it saves two lives: the recipient and the next one on the deceased organ waiting list.
Join LifeLink for a live panel discussion to uncover Living Donation. We will be joined by a living kidney donor and recipient duo, Brian and Ramjee, Melissa Owen, RD, LD/N Transplant Dietitian and Sarah Glass, MSW Living Donor Social Worker/Supervisor from Largo Medical Center. Catch us on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 streaming live to the LifeLink of Florida and LifeLink of Georgia Facebook pages and YouTube channels from 2-3pm.
